This hiking route takes you to Monte Altare, offering stunning views and a challenging trek. The route is 13.753 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1154 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting at the parking area at the trailhead, you will first pass by a picnic site 0.14 kilometers from the start, perfect for a quick rest before embarking on the journey. As you continue, you will come across Fonte Chiariglio, a refreshing spring located 2.8 kilometers from the start, where you can refill your water bottles.
Midway through the hike, at around 5.88 kilometers from the start, you will reach a saddle offering a brief respite before the final ascent to Monte Altare. The peak itself is 6.88 kilometers from the start, rewarding hikers with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
For sustenance after the challenging hike, Cavallino Bianco, a bar, is located 0.12 kilometers from the start, providing a well-deserved treat for tired muscles.
