This extremely difficult 11.58-kilometer out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning Rifugio Gaspare Oberto e Paolo Maroli in a picturesque area.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll pass by the Centro Sportivo Pecetto and Bar Centro Sportivo where you can grab some refreshments before the challenging hike ahead. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Bar Ristorante Rifugio Scarteboden where you can take a break and enjoy a meal with a beautiful view.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach Lago Smeraldo, a breathtaking natural water feature that offers a serene spot to rest and take in the surroundings. Continuing on, you'll pass by the Bar Ristorante Lago Smeraldo, another great spot to refuel before reaching your final destination.
The Rifugio Gaspare Oberto e Paolo Maroli awaits you at the end of the trail, offering a cozy accommodation option if you wish to extend your stay in the area. Along the way, you'll also encounter several viewpoints and artworks that add to the beauty of the hike.
