The trail starts at the Parkplatz Schmidt-Zabierow-Hütte, where you can park your vehicle before embarking on the journey. As you begin your hike, you'll pass by the Schmidt-Zabierow Hütte alpine hut, located 4.2 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some refreshments.

Continuing on, you'll come across the Hüttensicht viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Further along the trail, you'll encounter the Großes Reifhorn peak and the Kleines Reifhorn peak, each providing a unique vantage point for taking in the natural beauty of the region.

For those looking for an extra challenge, there is a via ferrata located 4.22 kilometers from the start. This section of the trail will test your climbing skills and offer an adrenaline-pumping experience.

At the turnaround point of the hike, you'll reach the Kreuzreifhorn peak, standing tall at 5.85 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to rest and admire the breathtaking views before heading back on the same route.

Throughout the hike, you'll also come across various amenities such as information points, benches, and springs for you to refill your water bottle. It's important to bring an ample water supply, snacks, proper hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before starting your journey.

As an out-and-back route, you'll retrace your steps back to the starting point at Parkplatz Schmidt-Zabierow-Hütte.
