This extremely difficult 16.19-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Saukarfunktel area. As you start your journey, you will pass by a parking area and a water source around the 4.5 kilometer mark. Along the trail, you will also find several restaurants including Zirbenwirt, Schüttalm, Gasthaus Galler, and Gasthaus Pröll where you can refuel and rest.

Midway through your hike, at approximately the 8-kilometer mark, you will reach the Saukarfunktel viewpoint and peak, offering stunning panoramic views of the surroundings. As you continue, you will encounter various information points providing insights into the area's natural beauty and history.

Towards the end of the hike, around the 14-kilometer mark, you will pass by the peaks of Ahornkarkopf and Saukarkopf before heading back to the starting point. This challenging route with 1026 meters of elevation gain is not for the faint-hearted, so make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before setting off.
