This hiking route will take you through the stunning natural beauty of the area around Tunel de Catarpe. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 10.498 kilometers and an elevation gain of 196 meters, making it a challenging hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Pukará de Quitor, an archaeological site located just 0.09 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This ancient fortress offers a fascinating glimpse into the area's history and is definitely worth a visit.
Further along the trail, about 4.72 kilometers from the starting point, you will reach the Tunnel viewpoint. This is a great spot to take a break, enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, and maybe even snap some photos to capture the beauty of the area.
As you continue on, you will pass by a shelter located 0.24 kilometers from the trail. This can be a good rest stop or a place to seek refuge if the weather takes a turn.
About 5.25 kilometers into the hike, you will reach another viewpoint where you can pause to appreciate the natural scenery and maybe spot some wildlife in the area.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across water sources, with one located right on the trail about 0.0 kilometers from the starting point, and another one 2.12 kilometers away.
