Welcome to the Roman Road hiking route! This easy 4.489-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a pleasant stroll through the beautiful countryside.
As you start your journey, you'll come across the Horse box & trailer parking area, perfect for those arriving with their equine companions. Further along the trail, about 2.24 kilometers in, you'll find a refreshing water source where you can take a break and rehydrate.
Around the midway point, you'll encounter the Memorial to the miners of the Plean colliery, a poignant reminder of the area's history. Additionally, there are several information points along the trail to provide insights into the surroundings and points of interest.
For a restful stop, there are picnic sites and benches scattered along the path, allowing hikers to take in the peaceful ambiance of the countryside. Make sure to check out the Plean Country Park Public Parking area if you need a place to safely park your vehicle before embarking on the hike.
