This challenging hiking route in the Schwarzhorn area offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.
Starting at the parking area in Chandolin, you will embark on a 10.6 km circular journey that includes 925 meters of elevation gain. The trail will lead you through beautiful natural surroundings, with the first point of interest being the Lac Noir (Black Lake) located 3.82 km from the start. This picturesque spot is an excellent place to take a break and enjoy the serene waters surrounded by lush forests.
Further along the trail, at 2.39 km from the start, you will come across another water feature. As you continue hiking, you will pass by the Couvert bourgeoisial du Darbellec shelter, offering a potential resting spot and a chance to appreciate the local architecture.
Midway through the hike, at 2.62 km from the start, you will reach the Crêt du Chèré peak, where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as this is a strenuous hike that will test your endurance.
Along the way, you will also encounter various information points, a picnic site, a bar, a restaurant, and a statue of a chamois. These offer opportunities to learn about the area's history and culture while refueling for the journey ahead.
As you approach the end of the hike, you will pass by Le Lac Noir restaurant before returning to the starting point in Chandolin.
