This hiking route will take you through the beautiful area surrounding Puy Loup. The trail is 4.658 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 147 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
You will start your journey at the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way along the path, you will come across the Refuge de la Banne, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. This refuge is only 0.08 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Further along the route, at around 1 kilometer in, you will reach the Col de Saint Laurent, a scenic saddle offering beautiful views of the area. Nearby, you will also find information points such as the Ancienne tour du Centre National de Vol Sans Moteur and various boundary stones and artworks.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 2.33 kilometers, you will reach the Puy Loup peak, where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, you will also find a memorial and the Aire de bivouac du Refuge de la Banne campsite for those looking to spend the night under the stars.
