Welcome to the hiking route to Leuca Mare! This circular trail covers a distance of 6.793 kilometers with an elevation gain of 498 meters, making it a moderate-level hike. The estimated duration for this hike is approximately 2 hours and 49 minutes.

Starting at Casa Ion Taraș and Casa Ion Vasilescu, two historic buildings situated at the beginning of the trail, hikers will be immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the area. As you continue along the trail, you will come across the Fântâna Căprioara fountain, a refreshing stop midway through the hike. Additionally, benches are available along the way for hikers to take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.

For nature enthusiasts, a visit to the Grecului peak and Șaua Grecului saddle, located approximately 2.71 kilometers from the start, offers spectacular views of the landscape. Further along the trail, you will encounter the Leuca Mare peak, providing another picturesque spot for hikers to explore and admire the scenery.

As you make your way back, don't miss the Monumentul Eroilor din Razboiul de Independenta (1877-1878), a historic memorial honoring the heroes of the Independence War. Take a moment to appreciate the artwork of General Gheorghe Garoescu before reaching the endpoint.
