Located in the beautiful region of Gelten, this challenging 8.091-kilometer circular hiking route offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.
Starting at the Lauenensee parking area, hikers will pass by the crystal-clear waters of Lauenensee at the beginning of the trail. As you trek further into the route, you will come across the informative point of "Ob der Ledi," providing interesting facts about the area at 0.44 kilometers from the start.
After a significant distance of 2.25 kilometers, you'll encounter the impressive Geltenschuss waterfall, a perfect spot to take in the natural beauty that surrounds you. Continuing on, at 1.5 kilometers, you'll find the enchanting Geltenhütte waterfall, adding to the scenic allure of the hike.
As the trail progresses, you'll reach the Geltenhütte SAC Alpine Hut at 3.77 kilometers from the start, a great place to rest and refuel before continuing your journey. The hut offers accommodation and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the hike, you'll also come across various viewpoints and information points that offer insights into the geological and cultural aspects of the Gelten region.
