This challenging hiking route takes you to the beautiful La Baseta area, offering stunning views and various points of interest along the way. The trail covers a distance of approximately 7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 791 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
Starting at the Parking de La Espiganosa, you will embark on your journey, passing by the Cascada de la Espigantosa waterfall, located about 0.26 kilometers from the trail. Further along the trail, at around 1.71 kilometers from the start, you will come across a refreshing spring known as La Baseta.
As you continue your hike, you will reach Collado de la Comalaqueba, a saddle point located at 2.28 kilometers from the start. Moving forward, you will encounter two peaks, the first being at 3.38 kilometers from the start and the second at 3.41 kilometers. These peaks offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the hike, you may also come across historical landmarks such as the Fundición del Freixenal monument and the Gruta fundición cave entrance, adding a cultural element to your outdoor adventure.
It is important to note that some points of interest, such as additional peaks, saddles, ruins, and a saddle at 3.49 kilometers from the start, are located slightly off the main trail.
