Your hiking adventure will take you through the stunning area of Traces des dinosaures-Col de la Terrasse. This hike is considered extremely difficult, with a total distance of 12.721 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1373 meters.
As you embark on your journey, you will come across several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Office de tourisme where you can gather information about the area. Further along, approximately 4 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Refuge de Loriaz, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
During your hike, you will also come across the Croix de Loriaz, a wayside cross located 3.67 kilometers from the start, and the Col de la Terrasse, a saddle point at 6.35 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. The Col de la Terrasse offers stunning viewpoints of the surrounding landscape.
It is important to note that there are water sources available at various points along the trail, including drinking water stations approximately 3.97 kilometers into the hike.
As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the Loriaz information point and the fountain located near the trail to replenish your water supply. Additionally, you can relax and grab a bite to eat at the Dormio - L'Ours Bleu restaurant located at the end of the trail.
