This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area surrounding Rauchiger Fels. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 2.613 kilometers and an elevation gain of 185 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Wanderparkplatz Rulaman, a parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. As you continue, you'll pass by Ruine Burg Hohenwittlingen, a historic castle ruin located 0.65 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, you'll encounter the Rechte Wittlinger Felsen, a climbing area situated at the same distance as the castle ruin.
Midway through your hike, you'll reach Rauchiger Fels, a beautiful viewpoint offering stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape. This is a great spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and maybe have a picnic at the nearby Föhrental picnic site.
As you make your way back, you can explore other points of interest such as the Schillerhöhle cave entrance and the Steffesloch cave entrance. Along the trail, you'll also find informative signposts like the Rulamanweg and various benches to rest and take in the natural beauty of the area.
