The Wiedweg hiking route is an easy out-and-back trail with a total distance of 3.917 kilometers and an elevation gain of 144 meters, making it perfect for hikers of all skill levels.

Starting at the trailhead, you will immediately come across a parking area, allowing for easy access to the trail. As you continue on, approximately 1.96 kilometers into the hike, you will reach a scenic viewpoint with a bench where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding landscape. Further along the trail, at about 1.46 kilometers in, you will find another bench for resting and a shelter for protection from the elements.

Approximately 1.95 kilometers into the hike, there is a picnic site where you can stop for a meal or snack. Just a bit further, at 0.37 kilometers from the start, you will find a water source, perfect for refilling your bottles. Additionally, there are informational signs along the way, providing insight into the flora, fauna, and history of the area.

As you near the end of the trail, at 1.63 kilometers in, you will come across a wayside cross and the Weißenfelser Ley viewpoint, offering stunning views of the surroundings. Finally, at 1.62 kilometers in, there is a wayside shrine for you to explore before making your way back along the same path.
