This hiking route takes you to the picturesque area surrounding Monte Cornet/Gerbal. The 6.5-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 666 meters offers a challenging yet rewarding outdoor experience.
Starting at the parking area, you will encounter various points of interest along the way. About 0.7 kilometers into the hike, you'll find the Bivacco Scengher shelter, providing a good rest spot for weary hikers. Further on, at around 1.6 kilometers, you'll come across some historic ruins before reaching the beautiful Bocchetta di Spessola saddle at 2.7 kilometers from the start.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 2.6 kilometers, there is a water source for refilling your bottles. As you continue, you will reach the peak of Monte Cornet/Gerbal at 3.3 kilometers, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.
On the way back, you can learn more about the area at the information points scattered along the trail. Make sure to stop by the Belvedere Scengher viewpoint at around 0.7 kilometers from the start for a memorable photo opportunity.
