This hiking route takes you through a breathtaking area with stunning natural beauty. The trail is a challenging one, with a total distance of 12.23 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1268 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the trailhead, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the adventure. Along the way, you will encounter several water sources, both natural and man-made, which can be great spots to rest and replenish your water supply. These water points are strategically located at varying distances from the trail, with some closer to the beginning and others further along.
About 3.15 kilometers into the hike, you will find a peak known as Grand Pic de Tapou, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. As you continue onwards, you will reach Lacs de Montferrat, a beautiful set of lakes that provide a peaceful and scenic setting for a break.
Midway through the hike, at a distance of 6.12 kilometers from the start, you will arrive at Pic du Milieu, a prominent peak along the trail. This spot is perfect for taking in the stunning vistas and snapping some photos to capture the moment.
For those looking to spend the night outdoors, there is an Aire de bivouac campsite located right on the trail, offering a convenient place to set up camp and rest before continuing the journey.
At the end of the route, you will have completed an out-and-back trail, culminating in a challenging yet fulfilling hiking experience.
