This hiking route is located in a beautiful area with stunning views and varied terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type, with the destination being the Rifugio Alpe Baranca. The total distance of the hike is approximately 5.5 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 407 meters, making it a moderate difficulty level.
As you start your journey, you will come across the first point of interest, the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. Further along, about 0.44 kilometers from the start, you will pass by the Wayside Shrine of San Giuseppe. As you continue, at around 0.62 kilometers in, you will see the beautiful Cascata dei Pissoni waterfall, a perfect spot to take a rest and enjoy the scenery.
About midway through the hike, at 2.74 kilometers from the start, you will reach Fonte Ersilia, a drinking water source to refill your water bottle. Additionally, you will find another drinking water point at the same distance on your way back. At the end of the trail, located 2.74 kilometers from the start, is the Rifugio Alpe Baranca, where you can rest and enjoy some refreshments.
Throughout the hike, there are several points of interest such as the Madonna di Medjugorje Wayside Shrine and Maria Ausiliatrice Wayside Shrine. Parking areas and information points are also available along the trail.
