The hiking route to the Pic de Nets is located in a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes. The trail covers a distance of 14.359 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1072 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will take approximately 6 hours to complete.
Along the trail, hikers will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by the Lac Noir, a picturesque lake just 3.59 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at about 4.08 kilometers from the beginning, you will find the Refuge d'Ilhéou, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments.
As you continue on the trail, you will encounter the Cascade d'Ilhéou, a beautiful waterfall located 3.01 kilometers from the start. Midway through the hike, at around 6.18 kilometers from the beginning, you will reach the Col de Haugade Supérieur, a natural saddle offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Towards the end of the trail, at 7.18 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Pic de Nets, a peak where you can marvel at the panoramic views of the landscape. Additionally, at the same location, you will find the Col d'Haugade Inférieur and the Tuc Arrouy, providing even more spectacular views of the area.
It is recommended to bring an ample supply of water and snacks, as well as to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike. The route is an out-and-back type, meaning you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point. So be prepared for a long and strenuous but rewarding adventure in the great outdoors.
