The hiking route to Pico Royo is located in a beautiful area with stunning views. The trail is an out-and-back type, covering a distance of 15.354 kilometers with an elevation gain of 996.0 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will take around 6 hours to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across "Parking du col des Tentes" at the beginning of the trail, which is a convenient spot to park your vehicle. Along the way, there are several points of interest such as "Refuge des Sarradets," an alpine hut located 4.83 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy the mountain scenery.
Further along the trail, you will pass by "Puerto de Bujaruelo," a saddle with an attraction to explore, located 1.65 kilometers from the start. As you continue, you will also encounter "Abri de La Brèche de Roland" and "Abri Gaurier," both cave entrances that offer a unique experience, at 5.67 and 6.18 kilometers from the start, respectively.
At the halfway point, you will reach "Pico Royo," a peak that is 7.68 kilometers from the start and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. Additionally, "Brèche de Roland" and "Le Doigt," both peaks, are also worth a visit at 5.64 and 6.37 kilometers from the start, respectively.
Throughout the hike, remember to stay hydrated and bring enough water, as the trail is long and challenging.
