This hike takes place in the beautiful area of Burgui-Isaba-Francia, also known as Burgi-Izaba-Frantzia. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 2.844 kilometers and an elevation gain of 509 meters, making it a difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Refugio de Belagua/Belaguako aterpea, an alpine hut where hikers can take a break and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This hut is located right at the start of the trail, making it a convenient spot to rest before continuing on your adventure.
Further along the trail, you will encounter a parking area midway through the hike, where you can leave your vehicle if needed. You will also pass by a water source at around 1.42 kilometers into the hike, providing a perfect opportunity to refill your water bottles and stay hydrated.
At 1.35 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the peak of Kortaplana, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the area. Nearby, you will find the Cromlech Eskilzarra, an archaeological site that adds an interesting cultural element to the hike.
As you make your way back towards the starting point, you will come across several information points and facilities, including the Belaguako aterpea - Refugio de Belagua, a restaurant, and a shelter where you can rest and refuel before completing the hike.
