Welcome to this extremely difficult hiking route that will take you through the stunning mountains of Capcir. This 12-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a challenging adventure with a total elevation gain of 764 meters.
At the beginning of the hike, you will find a parking area conveniently located right at the trailhead. As you progress, you'll pass by the picturesque Estany del Mig, a beautiful alpine lake situated 6 kilometers from the starting point.
Midway through the hike, you'll encounter the Serra de Mauri peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. If you're in need of a break, the Refuge des Camporells is just a short distance away at the 6-kilometer mark. This alpine hut provides a cozy resting spot and can be a good turnaround point for the hike.
Along the way, you'll also come across the Restaurant de la Calmazeille, where you can refuel with some delicious local cuisine. Additionally, keep an eye out for the wayside shrine and informational points that provide insights into the area's history and landmarks.
