Welcome to the Hirtenstieg hiking route! This challenging route covers a distance of 17.88 kilometers with an elevation gain of 449 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
Starting from the beginning of the trail, you will encounter various points of interest along the way. At 2.14 kilometers from the start, you will come across an information point providing insights into the area. Further ahead at 3.58 kilometers, you can explore the Goetheweg attraction. As you continue your journey, make sure to stop by the Dreieckiger Pfahl boundary stone at 2.23 kilometers and the Dreieckiger Pfahl shelter at 2.35 kilometers for a brief rest.
Midway through the hike, at 7.02 kilometers from the start, the iconic Brocken peak offers breathtaking views, giving you a sense of accomplishment. You can also visit the Brocken Garden, a unique attraction at a distance of 7 kilometers from the start.
Towards the end of your journey, at 8.3 kilometers, relax at the Eiserner Tisch shelter before heading back. Remember to carry enough water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike.
