This extremely difficult 14.792-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning landscapes around Torre Ponton. The trail starts at a beautiful alpine hut, Rifugio Dondena, where you can stock up on supplies and information before embarking on your journey.
As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter several points of interest. About 5.05 kilometers from the start, you'll come across Lago Pontonnet, a picturesque lake perfect for a rest stop. Further along, at the 4.25-kilometer mark, you'll find Lago Bianco, though it's a bit off the trail. At the beginning of the hike, you'll also pass by an informative signboard, Mappa Parco del Monte Avic, to learn more about the area.
One of the highlights of the route is Torre Ponton, a peak that stands at 6.98 kilometers from the start and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Additionally, Col de Fénis, a saddle point located at 5.92 kilometers from the start, provides a perfect spot to pause and take in the scenery.
Throughout the hike, you'll also find useful amenities such as drinking water sources and informational signboards to guide you on your journey. Remember to bring plenty of water, as this challenging route includes an elevation gain of 925 meters and will take approximately 5 hours and 44 minutes to complete.
