This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area surrounding Pic de Douly. The trail is 13.833 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 624 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will pass by parking areas at the beginning of the trail. About 5.41 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the Cabanes de la Prade shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding scenery. Continuing on, at around 4.6 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the stunning peak of Pic de Mont Aspet, offering breathtaking views of the area.
Further along the trail, at 1.29 kilometers in, you will find the Cabane de Cap Nestès shelter where you can rest and refuel before continuing your journey. Be sure to look out for the Mont Mérac peak, although it is slightly off the trail at 3.04 kilometers in. As you near the end of the hike, you will encounter the Pic de Belloc and Pic de Douly peaks, providing a rewarding end to your adventure.
Along the way, there is a restaurant located just 0.06 kilometers from the start of the trail where you can grab a bite to eat before or after your hike. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging trek.
