The Balcon du Nielard hiking route is located in a picturesque area with stunning views. The route is an out-and-back type, covering a total distance of 14.525 kilometers with an elevation gain of 997.0 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.

As you start your hike, you will come across parking areas available at the beginning to leave your vehicle. Further along the trail, at approximately 3.51 kilometers from the start, you will encounter an information point providing insights into the surroundings. At 3.52 kilometers, there is a restaurant named Altipiano if you wish to take a break and grab a bite to eat.

Midway through the hike at 6.7 kilometers, you will reach Col du Mottet, a beautiful saddle offering panoramic views of the area. Along the way back, at 5.58 kilometers, you will find Sources du Morel, a natural spring to quench your thirst.

Throughout the trail, you will come across various points of interest such as Cheval Blanc, Cote Soleil, and La Croix, providing valuable information about the region. Additionally, at 7.26 kilometers from the start, a viewpoint awaits you, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
