This extremely difficult 12.178-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you through the stunning area near Laghi del Mont Fortin. The trail starts at a parking area where you can leave your vehicle and begins with a gradual ascent. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across several points of interest.
About 0.05 kilometers from the start, you'll find Rifugio Elisabetta Soldini Montanaro (C.A.I.), an alpine hut where you can take a rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Further along the trail, at around 4.3 kilometers from the start, there is an information point where you can learn more about the area.
One of the highlights of the hike is the beautiful Lac du Mont Percé, located at around 4.68 kilometers from the start. This picturesque lake offers a perfect spot to take in the scenery and maybe even have a snack.
As you continue on, you'll come across Col des Chavannes, a natural saddle point at 3.63 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to take a breather and admire the panoramic views.
Throughout the hike, you'll also encounter various sources of water, such as fountains and natural bodies of water, where you can refill your water bottles. It's important to stay hydrated, especially on a challenging hike like this one.
Although the trail is challenging with an elevation gain of 452 meters, the unique landmarks and breathtaking views make it a rewarding adventure for experienced hikers.
