This challenging hiking route takes you through the stunning Alpine region, offering breathtaking views and a true test of endurance. The trail spans a distance of 46.217 kilometers with an elevation gain of 2345 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
You will start your journey at the parking area near Col des Chavannes, where you can gather your supplies and prepare for the adventure ahead. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across various points of interest, such as the historic wayside shrine and the beautiful Lac du Mont Percé.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Rifugio Elisabetta Soldini Montanaro, an alpine hut where you can take a rest and enjoy some refreshments before continuing on your journey. Along the way, you will also encounter several water sources, so be sure to refill your water bottles to stay hydrated.
One of the highlights of the hike is reaching Ometto, a magnificent viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This makes for a perfect spot to take a break, soak in the scenery, and capture some memorable photos.
As you push through the challenging terrain, make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear, bring plenty of water, and check the weather forecast before setting out. This out-and-back route will take approximately 16 hours and 33 minutes to complete, so plan accordingly and pace yourself to fully enjoy the experience.
