This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area surrounding Oak Ridge Golf Course on East Shepard Lane. The 6.5-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a moderate difficulty level, making it suitable for hikers of various skill levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across S & S Shortline Railroad Park and Museum, a popular attraction located right at the beginning of the trail. Further along the path, at approximately 1.4 kilometers from the start, you will find a serene water feature where you can take a break and replenish your water supply.
Continuing on, around the midway point of the trail, there are two more water sources located at a distance of 82 and 14 meters from the trail, respectively. These can be great spots to rest and enjoy the surrounding nature.
For those driving to the trailhead, parking is available at two different locations. One parking area is conveniently situated right at the trailhead, while the other is located about 2.4 kilometers into the hike.
