Located in the picturesque Pfälzerwald Nature Park, this hiking route will take you to the stunning Horbachkanzel viewpoint. The trail starts at a parking area near Schöntalweiher, where you can admire the peaceful beach and the serene waters of the Schöntalweiher lake.

As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Schöntalweiher lake, a perfect spot for a break and some beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Further along the route, you'll find the Horbachkanzel viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the lush greenery of the Pfälzerwald forest below.

Along the way, you'll pass by the Ritterstein Nr. 197 memorial, marking the site of the former Reissler-Forsthaus forester's lodge. Be sure to also keep an eye out for the various information points and benches along the trail, providing interesting tidbits about the area and a spot to rest and take in the scenery.

This out-and-back route has a total distance of 21.63 kilometers and an elevation gain of 67 meters, making it a moderate hike suitable for hikers of all skill levels.
