This hiking route will take you through a challenging terrain in the beautiful area surrounding Sudetendeutsche Hütte. With a distance of 15.099 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1346 meters, this trek is classified as extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.
Starting at the parking area located at the trailhead, you will embark on an out-and-back journey that will lead you to the Sudetendeutsche Hütte. Along the way, you will come across several points of interest:
- At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Äußere Steiner Alm, a restaurant located 3.16 kilometers from the starting point. This is a great spot to grab a meal or snack before beginning your hike.
- Midway through the route, approximately 7.52 kilometers from the start, you will encounter a natural water source. Make sure to fill up your water bottles here as it might be the last opportunity for freshwater on the trail.
- Continuing on, at around 7.55 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Sudetendeutsche Hütte, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning mountain views.
- Close to the hut, at 7.5 kilometers from the start, you will find an information point providing insights about the area and the hut itself.
Additionally, there are drinking water facilities located 3.13 kilometers from the start to keep you hydrated throughout your hike.
