This hiking route is located in a picturesque area with stunning natural beauty. The trail is an out-and-back type, starting at Via di Vaglio. The total distance of the hike is 11.714 kilometers with an elevation gain of 381 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete.
Along the trail, you will come across various points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, there is a parking area available for hikers. As you continue on, about 5.86 kilometers into the hike, you will find a water source nearby, providing a great opportunity to refill your water bottles.
Around 2.73 kilometers into the hike, there is a drinking water facility where you can hydrate and rest. At 0.15 kilometers from the start, there is a snack bar called Snack Bar la Penichella where you can grab some refreshments. Nearby, there is also a memorial site, 0.15 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of historical significance to the hike.
As you trek further, at 1.29 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Monte Pelara, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings. Keep in mind that at 2.39 kilometers from the start, there is another peak called Monte del Castellaccio, however, it is slightly off the trail.
