This extremely difficult 12.976-kilometer circular hike on GR 1 - Camí de Petrolers offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for avid hikers. The route starts at a parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way through the rugged terrain, you'll come across various points of interest.
About 4.8 kilometers into the hike, you'll discover the historic ruins of la Costa, providing a glimpse into the area's past. Midway through the trail, at approximately 6.12 kilometers, you'll reach the natural peak of Montmajor, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
There are several viewpoints along the trail, including one at 6.2 kilometers and another at 6.12 kilometers. These vantage points offer opportunities to rest and take in the breathtaking scenery. Additionally, at 5.95 kilometers, you'll encounter Coll de la Bassa, a natural saddle that adds to the adventure of the hike.
Before you reach the end of the trail, you'll pass by La Fonteta, a natural spring located just 0.09 kilometers from the trail. This is a great spot to refill your water supply and take a break before continuing on.
