This difficult 9.475-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Kečka peak. The trail starts at Žiarska dolina parking area, where you can leave your vehicle for a fee. As you begin your hike, you'll pass by the information point for Žiarska dolina at the trailhead.

As you continue on the trail, you will reach the peak of Malý Holý vrch at around 3.62 kilometers from the start. Here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. Along the way, you'll also come across information points such as Odbočka na Baranec a Plačlivé and Žiarska dolina, providing you with valuable insights into the region.

Midway through the hike, at approximately 3.5 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Holý vrch viewpoint with an information board. This is a great spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and learn more about the area.

As you approach the end of the trail, you'll reach the peak of Kečka, standing tall at 4.74 kilometers from the starting point. From here, you can take in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape before heading back the way you came.

With a total elevation gain of 973 meters, this hike is not for the faint-hearted. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking boots, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
