This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Monte Jamiccio, offering stunning views and a challenging experience. With a total distance of 21.487 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1933 meters, this hike is classified as extremely difficult, suited for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will pass by the Ufficio Turistico, a tourist information office, where you can gather more information about the area before embarking on the trail. Along the way, you will come across the Fountain Fontanella dell'Orso, providing a refreshing stop at the beginning of the hike.
Further into the trail, at around 6.33 kilometers from the start, you will reach Monte Petroso, a peak offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Continuing on, at 5.51 kilometers from the start, you will find Forca Resuni, an alpine hut perfect for a rest stop or overnight stay.
As you push through the challenging terrain, you will encounter various peaks such as Monte Jamiccio, which marks the endpoint of the route. It is recommended to carry an ample water supply and check the weather forecast before setting off on this demanding hike.
Throughout the trail, you will also come across several drinking water sources, like the ones near the Bar della Lince and La Betulla, providing necessary hydration points along the way.
