Located in a picturesque area, the Chemin des Charbonniers hiking route offers a moderate challenge with a distance of 4.729 kilometers and an elevation gain of 281 meters. The trail will take approximately 1 hour and 47 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you'll come across a convenient parking area at the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you'll encounter several points of interest such as a viewpoint at 2.01 kilometers from the start, where you can take in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, at 0.01 kilometers from the start, there is a charming fountain for a refreshing stop.
Further along the trail, at 0.1 kilometers from the start, you'll find a drinking water facility to refill your water bottles. At 0.06 kilometers from the start, there is another viewpoint offering stunning vistas.
For history enthusiasts, there are ruins of the Ermitage Saint-Jean d’Aureillan at 2.24 kilometers from the start, and two Calvaire wayside crosses at 0.31 and 0.06 kilometers from the start respectively. A statue of the Vierge and several benches for resting can also be found at various points along the trail.
Midway through the hike, around 1.14 kilometers from the start, you'll come across the Grotte de Liausson cave entrance, adding an interesting element to your adventure.
