This challenging 7.9-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning landscape around the Tegelberg area. The trail starts at the Talstation Tegelbergbahn parking lot, where you can leave your car and begin your adventure.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across various points of interest. About 0.3 kilometers into the hike, you'll find the exciting Sommerrodelbahn, a popular attraction for visitors. Further along, at around 2.6 kilometers, you'll encounter the Tegelbergsteig via ferrata, offering a thrilling climbing experience for the adventurous hiker.
At approximately 3.7 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the Gleitschirm- und Drachenstartplatz Tegelberg, a free-flying site where paragliders and hang gliders take off. Nearby, you'll also find the Landeplatz Para- und Hängegleiter, the landing site for these flying enthusiasts.
During the hike, you'll also pass by various facilities such as the Tegelberghaus restaurant and alpine hut, offering a place to rest and grab a bite to eat. Additionally, benches and information points are scattered along the trail, providing opportunities to take a break and learn more about the area.
One of the highlights of the route is the Fingersteig via ferrata, located around 3.1 kilometers in. This challenging section will test your climbing skills as you navigate the rocky terrain.
As this is a difficult hike with an elevation gain of 923 meters, it's important to come prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks. Check the weather forecast before heading out and make sure to follow trail markers to stay on course.
After spending around 4 hours on the trail, you'll loop back to the starting point, completing your adventure in the beautiful Tegelberg area. Get ready for a rewarding hike surrounded by breathtaking views and exciting attractions along the way.
