This hiking route will take you through a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes and historic ruins. The trail, which is an out-and-back route, spans a distance of 11.219 kilometers with an elevation gain of 135 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take about 2 hours and 56 minutes to complete.
As you start your hike, you'll come across parking facilities at the beginning of the trail. About 1.19 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter Lago di Canalecchio, a picturesque lake where you can take in the peaceful surroundings. Further along the trail, at approximately 2.77 kilometers from the start, you'll find the ruins of San Benedetto, offering a glimpse into the area's historic past.
Continuing on, at 4.97 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach another part of Lago di Canalecchio, providing you with more opportunities to appreciate the natural beauty of the area. About midway through the hike, at 5.5 and 5.61 kilometers from the start, you'll come across more sections of the lake, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere.
Towards the end of the trail, at 1.55 kilometers from the start, you'll find a beach area where you can relax and unwind after your challenging hike. Additionally, at 1.71 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the attraction known as Le buche del Savena a Pianoro, adding an extra element of interest to your journey.
