Starting at the parking area, you'll first come across the historic ruins of Burg Birkenfels at around 3.07 kilometers into the hike. Further along the trail, at approximately 3.18 kilometers, you'll find a refreshing water source located right on the trail.

As you continue on the circular route, you'll pass by the Rohrweiher water feature at 0.13 kilometers, although it is slightly off the main trail. There are other water sources along the way, with one at the beginning of the hike and another around the 3.2-kilometer mark.
