This extremely difficult hiking route to Monte Plauris offers a challenging yet rewarding experience in the beautiful natural surroundings. The 13.099-kilometer trail starts at the parking area and takes hikers through various points of interest along the way.

At the beginning of the trail, hikers will find an information point followed shortly by a picnic site and a drinking water source, providing a good opportunity to rest and hydrate before continuing onwards. About 3.05 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the wilderness hut named Ricovero Resartico, offering a cozy spot to take a break and enjoy the scenery.

Further along the trail, at the 5.32-kilometer mark, hikers will reach Forca Slips, a picturesque saddle that provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape. As you approach the halfway point of the hike, at 6.55 kilometers, you'll reach the peak of Monte Plauris, where you can take in panoramic views from the summit.

On the way back, you'll pass by the historic ruins of Borgo minerario Resartico and another information point to learn more about the area. The endpoint of the trail offers a viewpoint at 3.07 kilometers, providing a final opportunity to admire the scenery before heading back to the starting point.

With a total elevation gain of 1483 meters, this hike is definitely not for the faint of heart. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
