This challenging hike takes you to the beautiful area of Skibergsteigen umweltfreundlich - Am Waldeck. The trail spans approximately 5.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 678 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.

Starting at the Birkenstein parking lot, you will pass by the Hubertushütte alpine hut, approximately 2.74 kilometers into the hike. This is a great spot to take a rest and enjoy some local cuisine if the hut is open between May and October on Wednesdays to Sundays. You will also encounter the Breitensteinfensterl climbing spot about 1.74 kilometers into the hike.

Along the way, you will find various points of interest such as the Breitenstein Westgipfel peak, which is about 2.66 kilometers from the start of the trail. Additionally, you can explore the Hansi memorial and the Ernst Simmer memorial, located approximately 1.76 kilometers and 1.75 kilometers into the hike, respectively.
