This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Old Warke Dam. The trail is super easy, making it suitable for hikers of all levels. Make sure to bring plenty of water, as there is no elevation gain on this 1.405-kilometer route.
Along the way, you will come across several points of interest. Starting at the trailhead, you will find convenient parking at George’s Restaurant. As you begin your hike, you will pass by Worsley Canal Basin, where you can take in the serene waterside views just 0.13 kilometers from the start.
Continue along the trail to reach Worsley Delph, another picturesque water feature located 0.16 kilometers from the start. Midway through your hike, you will encounter the Mining crane sculpture, a unique artwork just 0.16 kilometers from the beginning.
For a longer break, consider visiting the Bridgewater Hotel at 0.07 kilometers from the start for some food and drinks. If you are interested in history, you can also find the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater's monument at 0.23 kilometers from the trailhead.
Before heading back, take a moment to appreciate the Old Warke Dam, the final destination of this out-and-back route. At the end of your hike, return to the trailhead where your journey began.
