This hiking route will take you through the beautiful area surrounding Plotscherkogel. The total distance of the hike is 22.734 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1341 meters, making it an extremely difficult trail that is recommended for experienced hikers.

You will start your journey at the Basecamp, located right at the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you will come across various points of interest such as Steer restaurant, Base Camp restaurant, and the Tourismusbüro Riesneralm where you can gather more information about the area.

As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter several water points including Hühnereck and multiple water sources at different distances from the trail. These spots will be great for refilling your water bottles, but make sure to carry an adequate amount of water with you as well.

One of the highlights of the hike is reaching the peak of Plotscherkogel, located at a distance of 11.37 kilometers from the start. The summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and is a great spot to take a break and soak in the scenery.

Along the trail, you will also pass by Edelweiss bar and a wayside shrine, adding to the cultural and historical experience of the hike.

It is important to note that this route is an out-and-back type, so you will be retracing your steps on the way back. Make sure to check the weather forecast before setting out, and wear appropriate hiking gear. Remember to pack enough food and water for the long journey ahead.
