This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Via Valsabbia. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of approximately 3.9 kilometers and an elevation gain of 138 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area at the beginning of the trail, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on your hike. As you continue along the trail, you will come across a water source at about 2 kilometers in, providing a refreshing spot to rest and refill your water bottles.
Further along the route, you will encounter the peaks of Monte Cornisello and Dosso Fontane, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. These peaks are located at around 1.76 and 1.22 kilometers from the trailhead, respectively.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Passo del Viglio, a historical saddle point that offers a glimpse into the area's past. At this point, there is also an information center where you can learn more about the area's history and geography.
Along the trail, you will also come across various points of interest, such as wayside shrines, memorials, benches, and artworks, adding to the cultural and natural experience of the hike.
