Welcome to the Burgweg hiking route!
The Burgweg trail is a scenic out-and-back route that spans approximately 1.95 kilometers with an elevation gain of 112 meters. This easy hike is perfect for all skill levels and offers a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will be greeted by the charming Camping Guggemos, a campsite located just a stone's throw away. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the ruins of Burgruine Hopfen am See, a medieval castle that dates back to the early 12th century. Explore the various ruins and structures such as the Hauptgebäude, Ringmauer, and Turm, each offering a glimpse into the area's rich historic past.
For a scenic break, stop by the viewpoint overlooking the lush landscape and the Ententeich, a serene water feature. Along the trail, you'll also find benches, shelters, and informational kiosks providing insight into the area's flora, fauna, and history.
