The Burgweg hiking route is a super easy trail that spans approximately 1.421 kilometers with an elevation gain of 71 meters. The trail is an out-and-back type, making it perfect for all levels of hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will pass by Camping Guggemos, a campsite situated just 99 meters from the trail. This is a great spot to stay overnight before or after your hike. As you continue along the path, you will come across Burgruine Hopfen am See, a historic castle ruin located 0.68 kilometers into the hike. Explore the various ruins and historical buildings along the trail, such as Hauptgebäude, Ringmauer, and Turm (frühes 12. Jahrhundert).
Around the midway point of the hike, you'll find Vilser Bebele, a natural peak that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Take a break at one of the benches or shelters along the trail to enjoy the scenery and rest your legs.
