Welcome to the hiking route to Aizpotorreta.
Located in a scenic area, this 8.037-kilometer out-and-back trail offers hikers a challenging yet rewarding experience. With an elevation gain of 426 meters, this route is classified as difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find Erroitiko Iturria, a drinking water source just 0.92 kilometers from the start, perfect for filling up your water bottles before the ascent. Further along, approximately 3.28 kilometers in, you will find Zabalaitzazpi Iturria, another drinking water source to keep you hydrated on your adventure.
Midway through the trail at 3.61 kilometers, you'll encounter Urbiako Fonda, a restaurant where you can take a break and refuel before continuing your hike. Nearby, you'll also find Fondako Iturria, another drinking water source to replenish your supplies.
As you hike further, you'll discover some historic sites, including Túmulo Gorostiaran Este and Dolmen Gorostiaran Oeste, both located around 3.61 kilometers from the start. These archaeological sites offer a glimpse into the region's ancient past.
Towards the end of the trail, at 4.02 kilometers, you'll reach Aizpotorreta, a peak that offers stunning panoramic views as a rewarding endpoint for your hike.
