This circular hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding the Blick in den Steinbruch viewpoint. The trail covers a distance of 12.05 kilometers with an elevation gain of 50 meters, making it a moderate-level hike suitable for hikers of all skill levels.
Starting at the Blick in den Steinbruch viewpoint, you will first pass by the Burgruine Haunsperg castle. As you continue on the trail, you will come across the Wirtshaus Schlössl restaurant where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine. Further along the route, you will reach the Schlößl Parkplatz Kirche, Gasthaus und Steinbruch parking area, which marks the halfway point of the hike.
One of the highlights of the hike is the Steinbruch Schlößl archaeological site, where you can explore the remains of an ancient quarry. Nearby, you will also find the information point about Hydrologie, offering insights into the area's water systems. As you make your way back towards the starting point, you will pass by the Tropisches St. Pankraz vor 50 Mill. Jahre information point, which showcases the tropical environment that existed in the region millions of years ago.
