This hiking route takes you through the stunning wilderness of the Pyrenees region. The trail is 10.67 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 566 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
Starting at the parking area at the beginning of the trail, you will pass by the intriguing ruins of Cabanes de La Gaubie, offering a glimpse into the historic past of the area. As you continue, you will come across the Toue de La Pègue shelter, providing a cozy spot to rest and refuel.
Midway through the hike, you will find the Cabane d´Aygues Cluses wilderness hut, where you can take a break and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Make sure to check out the nearby water source for a refreshing drink before continuing on your journey.
Towards the end of the trail, you will reach the Refuge d'Aygues-Cluses, currently under construction but still welcoming hikers with a fee-based accommodation option. This is a great spot to rest before heading back on the out-and-back route.
