This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Fonte Giulia, Lago di San Bernolfo, and Collalunga. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of approximately 9.98 kilometers and an elevation gain of 722 meters, making it a difficult hike that will challenge both your endurance and strength.
As you start your journey, you will come across the parking area at Parcheggio San Bernolfo, which is conveniently located at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to pack enough water for the hike as there are several drinking water sources along the way, such as Fonte Giulia at 4.99 kilometers into the hike.
Along the trail, you will encounter various points of interest that add to the experience of the hike. At 1.62 kilometers, you will find historic ruins, and at 1.72 kilometers, you will reach Rifugio De Alexandris - Foches al Laus, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Further along the trail, at 4.44 kilometers, you will come across Lago di Mezzo, a beautiful lake that offers a scenic spot to rest and take in the views. Additionally, at 4.99 kilometers, there are more water sources and information points to explore.
As you reach the turnaround point, Lago di San Bernolfo, at 2.04 kilometers, take some time to relax before heading back along the same trail. Keep in mind that the trail can be challenging at times due to the elevation gain, so be prepared for a strenuous workout.
