Starting at the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail, you will embark on your journey towards La Croix d'Aquila. The trail begins with a gradual incline, allowing you to warm up before reaching the first point of interest, a drinking water station located just 0.46 kilometers from the start.
As you continue on, you will pass by the peak of La Roche Jaune, which offers picturesque views (2.46 kilometers from the start) even though it is slightly off the main trail. The main highlight of the hike, La Croix d'Aquila, is located 3.41 kilometers from the start and is a must-visit spot for panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Col de la Trancoulette, a saddle point that provides a perfect resting spot with its scenic surroundings. From here, you can take in the beauty of the natural landscape before heading back towards the starting point.
With an elevation gain of 575 meters, this route is considered difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before setting out on this adventure.
